What happens with your samples?
Placed in reactors with compost @ 58’c
Mixed and watered
When the materials are received, they are shredded into tiny particles. These are then placed in reactors in industrial composting conditions with standard compost ingredients.
The compost mixtures are mixed according to the method and water is added to keep the compost moist. The test is mixed and watered for 90 days (whilst being incubated).
The final compost is analysed for a standard ecotoxin screen (metals, pesticides, solvents, oils/grease, phytotoxins, PBvTs).
The values received in the ecotoxin screen are then included in a final report to the customer that compares the leather compost levels to the typical requirements of the EU and US soils.
